Handel’s Hotel is situated on the edge of Temple Bar, a largely pedestrianised area often referred to as Dublin’s ‘Cultural quarter’ – though, as we all know, you’ll find culture of every kind across the whole city! Originally the garment district with its workshops and warehouses, the area was falling into decay in the 1980s. It was soon taken over by artists, musicians, performers and writers taking advantage of the low rents. By the 1990s the area was completely reborn.
