Jameson is probably the most famous Irish Whiskey in the world. At the beginning of the 19th century the distillery was producing a million gallons a year and by 1805 it was widely regarded as the most popular whiskey. Today the distillery remains the third largest sing-distillery in teh world. The distillery is open to visitors and is located just across the river from Handel’s Hotel in Smithfield.
