Trinity College Dublin was founded by Queen Elizabeth 1st of England in 1592. At that time, Fishamble St. would have been at the heart of the city and Trinity in the countryside! The campus, which is open to the public, is an oasis of calm in the busy metropolis. There’s an art gallery, a theatre and the world famous Trinity Library Long Room, which is home to the Book of Kells, an illuminated manuscript from the 9th Century.
