You will have already seen Christchurch Cathedral on your way into Handel’s Hotel, which is across the road from it. Just up the street, about 5 minutes walk, is Dublin’s other cathedral – St. Patrick’s – where Jonathan Swift, author of Gullivers Travels, was Dean. St. Patrick’s was built over 800 years ago and during a guided tour you will hear many fascinating stories, including how the Cathedral’s ‘Door of Reconciliation’ gave rise to the expression ‘Chancing your arm’.
